Fem Fest was a really interesting and unique event. Powerful women showcasing their work and unifying as one to support each other was something quite rare to see in the design world. Graphic design is often pictured as a mostly male dominated by certain people, which is something I disagree with.
As a feminist myself the support of women in the design world is vital and is completely necessary.
This art event has put some perspective on how relevant it is we support female designers and how important we is we spread awareness of feminism and continue to challenge people's stubborn and often negative thoughts about it. In order to be equal we need to fight for women and put more balance in the world when it comes to sexes in the world place.
I have come away from this event feeling more educated and knowledgable - mostly from talking to the artists there that were explaining the origins of the event to me. This is something I will continue to include within my world and always keep in mind when designing when representing women.
