Studio Brief 01 - Re-imagining album artwork

There is nothing worse than a bad album cover. Especially when you love the record or album and for some reason cannot appreciate it as much because you're stuck seeing an ugly it on your spotify page every time you want to blast your favourite tunes. It's super off-putting and it almost ruins a musical project for me personally. Being a visual person, I often find myself recreating album covers to replace the originals just so I can enjoy the music more.

I find the process really engaging and addictive. I even go as far as creating my own playlist covers... I suppose it is a form of expression where I get to create something that represents how I feel about the music that they contain. Kind of like a mini mood board.

Along side the practical for COP 2 I begun to redesign and create my own album covers for pre-exising ones I found aesthetically displeasing.

Studio Brief 01 - Tetley: a bad experience

From this experience I learned a lot about galleries/exhibitions because this in fact was neither. It was a birthday celebratory event. There was only a few pieces of work displayed and neither of them appealed me as a creative - it was rather a uninspiring and underwhelming experience over all.

  • Made me realise it is important to make sure I have researched about the event before I go - as with this I expected a full gallery or art and displays when really it was just a celebration of the Tetley's third birthday.
